JP Monarch 14" Hand Push mower

A 1957 JP Monarch 14" Hand Push mower.  The Monarch is an uncommon mower which was introduced as a cost reduced version of the JP Maxees, in that it did not have a detachable cutter unit. The Monarch 12" version is still to be found occasionally, although not as frequently as the Maxees.  However, the 14" version is rarer still and only two have been recorded in a database maintained by Henry Ellis.  The grass box colour is an exact match to the original colour and seems to be a trend JP were following from mid-1950's until 1959. A complete rebuild was necessary to alleviate rust. Considerable time was taken to recreate the logo from photographs. The John Bull oval hand grips are original. Necessary parts were cleaned and re-plated.
