I bought this smaller 10inch Willing Worker as part of a large collection about two years ago. As you can see it is in very good condition. However I have no idea what is going on with the wooden sided Grassbox- synchronised very precise woodworm maybe lol. The Willing Worker was manufactured by Drummond Brothers in Guildford Surrey from 1923 to the mid 1930's. It was available in sizes of 10,12,14 and 16 inches. The colour of the Worker was predominantly green but because of disappointing sales from the late 1920's was also available in silver, which gave the appearance of being light, easy to use and modern. A really lovely 14 inch example of a Willing Worker can be seen at the National Trust property of Polesden Lacey, Leatherhead in Surrey.
