This is thought to be a 1928 photo from Woodbridge, Suffolk. Can anyone ID the mower?

Hello

A great photograph & could well be a Thomas Green & Son's, New Century, as the name suggests introduced in 1900 & I have seen ad's as late as 1932.

My thanks - that looks like a very solid ID, which I've posted back to the Facebook thread,

Hi

Yes the mower does look to be a Green's New Century but the plate appears to be missing, even if it was there we could not see what it would say, a pity as there were 2 different types of plates, the early 1900's plate had the Royal coat of arms, as with Keith's machine post 1925, the Royal Coat of arms was replaced with a star

Clothing is also very difficult to age at times, particularly in gardeners

As in your name a real Bugbear!

Kind regards

Andrew
