Help - Qualcast Punch Classic Clutch Lever/Spring Problem

Enter a word or two to search the forum section and click the Search Forum button.

Hi everyone,

Came across the website in searching for some diagrams and I must say there is some great content on here.

I have recently rebuilt my Qualcast CP30S which had been dismantled and left in bits for years by someone else (that's another story). Managed to find a diagram which aided in putting everything back together. I am now slightly stuck with the clutch lever and the spring that sits on it. If you look at the picture below you will see the spring is touching the drive element - highlighted in yellow. Does this simply need bending out of the way? I am not sure what its purpose is. There doesn't appear to be much room between the clutch lever and drive but then I am assuming it doesn't need much movement to make contact.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hoping to get the mower up and running soon. Also below is a picture of the side view, clutch cable not connected yet.

That’s too modern for me or any of my books ! I presume that it must have been the very last version of the Electric  Punch under Bosch’s ownership of the brand.

Any chance you can scan the parts diagram that you used to assist with reassembly?

Thanks for the reply. I do wonder when this was manufactured. Its definitely made in the U.K but could well have been around the time Bosch acquired Qualcast which was 1995? Picture of the model number below along with the diagrams used to put it back together. The diagrams reference this as F016T49411. The offending part is no 142.
