Hi guys

new here looking to find out more on this mower i bought.

 

no idea what model it is, so thats a start. I was looking to find out what tank i need for it and any other advice.

Well it’s an Atco , 24” or possibly a 30” , re-engined , I think, with a Tecumseh . Not sure where the fuel tank has gone but it has a tow bracket for an Autosteer roller seat.

possibly started life with a Lightweight Villiers engine. Is there a model ID tag on the right hand chassis sideplate?

Yes an Atco, most likely 24 inch, but I think the engine Is either a Fuji Robin or a Kawaski and it was undoubtedly re-engined from a 150cc LW Villiers, it has the flywheel on the PTO side.

im just in the process of stripping the paint off for a respray, 

i noticed that it is missing the diagonal seat bar brace, is it needed? If so can some give me some measurements please so i can sourdeca new one.
