Not familiar with that set up but can you post an image of the replacement coupling and a scan of the relevant page of illustrated parts list - if you have one?  May give a clue as to the amount and order of dismantling required.

Here's some larger photos and one of the coupling, sorry I don't have an illustrated parts list.

(probably the only option I have is to cut the bolts on the coupling and take the engine out)

That looks familiar, it's similar to the ones used on the the later machines such as the Mastiff. It's probably easier and more time effective to remove the engine rather than trying to fiddle it in with the limited space available .It's possible that you can remove the engine by sliding  the engine side "spider" off the crank as you remove the engine and then have more room to undo the bolts holding the two "spiders" to the fabric disc.  I'm guessing (hoping!) that out of sight on the engine side of the coupling there may be a grub screw securing it to a key and keyway on the crank . Worst case scenario is that the engine side spider is secured by an axial set bolt into the end of the crank - then it's back to cutting the bolts through the coupling .

wristpin...thanks.

I've put it all back together (before I forget) and will leave it for another day.
