Sloper 15 RPM
Got the Marquis 20 out for the first time in well over a year, pulled over a fair few times to spin some oil, put in some fresh fuel and started 1st pull.
Forgotten what a handful skill wise on the clutch it is over the punch, good fun. But was surprised at how high it seemed to rev on reflectively little lever action.
I put a cheapo tacho on it and at a bit over half lever throttle it was reading 4000 rpm! I quickly backed off, just had a look at the A15 spec and the graph reads power figures to 3500
This is the bit different F15 with DelOrto carb, which I still think was intended for this one.
I will keep it below half throttle but out of interest, what sort of max RPM would be safe for an F15? I reckon it would go over 5000 if I pushed it to wide open throttle.

The final? version of the A15
The final? version of the A15 had the Dellorto carb, electronic ignition but no governor. Also it no longer had the poppet crankcase breather incorporated into the crankcase end cover but a breather pipe from the back of the valve chest to a round paper element air filter body.

I think the A15 also has a displacement of 147cc as opposed to 120 of the F12.
Yes the bore was increased
Yes the bore was increased from 59mm to 65mm, the stroke is the same 44mm taking to 146cc
I think this must be quite a late one. Clearly no point in running over 3400 RPM

Bit lost here, I thought the F15 was an upright engine. I think you mean the F12, which was a sloping engine and was usually fitted with an Amal slide carb. This was replaced by the A15 sloper, fitted with a Villiers carb (well all the ones I ever saw were) and a governor, something the F12 didn't have.
