Ransome Meteor Four

HI there.

I'm looking at restoring this Ransome Meteor Four lawnmower. The problem is that the magneto is not generating a spark. Now I need to get into the magneto to see what is going wrong. This is where I can't find anywhere on how to remove the guard/wheel around it. I've attached a picture so you know what I'm going on about. The nut/screw on the end won't budge and I can't tell if its a left or right hand thread. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm stuck for idea's.

Many Thanks

Charlie

Hi

Thanks for the reply. It is working on my computer. I don't know if I did. Its a JAP 3/26 I think.

Thanks again

Have same mower fully dismantled for restoring it.. Engine is JAP 3/28 and scanned Jap manual for you. .See: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ayg7am645gsmnmh/Jap%20model%203%20type%2028001.pdf

Flywheel nut has R.H thread , it is the nut were the rotating screen is fitted on. It has only 2 flats spanner size approx. 47.5 mm  The flywheel is on a straight shaft (no cone to break  loose) Please note that flywheel has inspection hole, covered by a plate so you can inspect breaker points without removing flywheel .
