Can anyone cast any light on this mascot? Friend found it in box of clutter when clearing a shed.

Cast alloy and seems to have been made to clamp on a "badge bar".

Google searches etc not come up with an answer yet!

Well could be home brewed I suppose, or the worshipful company of spannermen maybe! however there is a sort of Masonic aura to it so your guess is as good as mine would be as to its real meaning.

Is there any background in engineering where the mascot was found?
