Hello all

I would like to know how old and what model this 20" cut Atco mower is please?  The engine is a 2 stroke Villiers 1.5 hp.

The stud that holds on the aluminium cowling to the cylinder head has broken.  It appears to be 7/16 26 tpi British cycle thread, but I have been unable to locate one.

I have a weak spark, but I have not been able to start it and I suspect a timing problem.  The mark on the pinnion is 180 degrees out from the arrow on the magneto when I align the opening of the points gap just before tdc.

Is there a Halfords car spraycan that matches the Atco green?  I used Ford Laurel Green which looks good on my Suffolk Punch, but doesnt match on this petrol tank.

Regards

Alastair

Hello all

It was nice to meet you last Saturday at Milton Keynes.  Thanks for the helpful advice.

I found that I had fitted the magneto 180 degrees out and once I corrected that the timing marks all aligned and she started.  To celebrate I created a video which might amuse you all.

The story is that she is 1936 and belonged to the Earl of Lonsdale, the famous "Yellow Earl" who lived in Rutland and died in 1944.
