Ransome mastiff mk1 dipstick
Hello
I have a mastiff mk1 that I am working on. The mower would have originally come with a set of tools with it, one of which was a dipstick for the land roller and gearbox. I have had no luck finding one or finding out the volume of oil in both.
Does anyone know the volume of either or have a dipstick they could send the measurements of?
thank you!

Good job you have them
Good job you have them Wristpin, you wouldn't believe how expensive that bent dipstick is, it also saves me having to dig mine out (home made, I refused to pay Ransomes ridiculous prices for them)
Thank you Wristpin

I suspect that they may may have been “liberated “ from a used machine. Boss’s perks!

Guys, is this dipstick the same for the Mk2 model, recently acquired one as a barn find and the rear land roll squeaks after 5 min of use, so I suspect that there is not enough oil in it. Anything else I should be aware of/advice?

I have recently acquired a Mastiff 30" Mk2 as a barn find. Is the land roll dipstick the same for the MK2? After about 5 mins of use the rear land roll starts squeaking, so i suspect that there is a lack of oil. Anything else I should be aware of with the Mastiff?

LAY0456 for both and
LAY0456 for both and regardless of 30” or 36” as the centre roller is common to both widths. I suspect that your squeak is not emanating from the centre roller diff and it’s sealed oil bath unless only when turning, as in a straight line the diff turns as one. Even then, it may be caused by the edges of the outer rolls rubbing against the centre one . Also, don’t forget about the parking brake at the right hand end of the roller. That brake is often full of dust and dried grease.
