Gaskets

Trying to get a set of gaskets for stripping down the carb on, what I suspect is, an early 90s Qualcast 35sk. I've tried the place in Gateshead with no success. Any other ideas?

Struggling a bit but of the

Struggling a bit but of the three possibles, Dellorto, , Walbro/Tecumseh and Tillotson, I can only eliminate the Dellorto.

Going to do a bit more research but meanwhile please give the carb a close examination for any numbers or even a name cast or stamped into it

EDIT

On second thoughts and looking at the shape of the choke lever, I think that it may be a Tillotson.

The bowl gasket would be  Atco Qualcast part number F016Q10076 ( Tillotson No. 16-B388X ) and if you cant find one through the usual channels, try Jon Cruse at the Hailsham Mower Centre 01323 842477 or Hugo at Rowena Motors 01248 715552.

I think you may be right. The only marking I can find is this...

Which does look remarkably like the Tillotson logo

Does look fairly approximate

Does look fairly approximate !  I’ve neither a Tillotson carb nor a good enough image to do a detailed comparison but I think that we may be on the right track.

Got the appropriate gaskets

Got the appropriate gaskets from JAPG-mowers and stripped down and cleaned the carb. Was exactly the one in the PDF you sent. Thanks.

For anyone else doing this, a small pop rivet is the perfect calibre for tapping out the float fulcrum pin.

That’s good. I can’t

That’s good. I can’t recollect stripping a Tillotson , is that pin slightly tapered, making it only possible to remove it in one direction?  The Bing carburettor on some JLO engines has a tapered pin which can be a difficult to remove while trying to support the carb while driving out the pin. My solution was to buy a cheap “automatic” centre punch and grind off  the point to produce a flat surface. Then with the punch set for a low impact it became an easy two handed job - carb held in one hand, punch held against the pin and “ fired off” with the other.

I’ve obtained a couple of difficult to find parts from JAPG - they seem to be a useful firm to bookmark.

No. The pin wasn't tapered,

No. The pin wasn't tapered, just stuck fast.

My solution was to get a mate to hold the carb on the bench while I held the pop rivet in a pair of needle nosed pliers and gave it a firn tap with a pin hammer. Having an extra pair of hands is always useful.
