Lawnmower Racing on New BBC Show

News reaches us of a new BBC show called David & Jay's Touring Toolshed in which Sir David Jason (Del Boy, Only Fools and Horses) and Jay Blades (The Repair Shop) tour the UK meeting collectors and enthusiasts of all things mechanical. Running early evening on BBC2 during weekdays, the series comprises fifteen-half hour episodes with three or four different subjects each night. Episode Five, scheduled for Fridat 25 January, features two lawn mower racing enthusiasts.

Look out for some archive footage of lawn mower racing from the 1970s or 80s which may or may not feature chamption racer and Old Lawnmower Club member Brian Radam of the British Lawnmower Museum. Watch the show live each weekday evening on BBC2 at 18:30 (repeated 07:30 the following morning) until Friday 9 February. All episodes are available on the BBC iPlayer now and for the rest of 2024.
