John Lewis of Brimscombe - Patent of 1802 for a Furnace
A book on the early history of The Steam Engine, mentions that John Lewis of Brimscomb, the inventor of the Cross Cutter in 1815, had registered a patent for a furnace in 1802.
Not everything was correct in these early histories. At the top of the page in this book, for example, the reference to Alexander Vivian should be Andrew Vivian who was Richard Trevithick's cousin.
