I have just acquired a Suffolk punch mower, with the hope of rebuilding it. Photo attached all help will be appreciated as this is a learning curve.

Most of what prompted my remark can be dealt with without dismantling. Perhaps moving the clutch a little away from the engine and slackening the engine mounting bolts to allow it to be moved into alignment with the clutch drum - then re- tightening!
That said, by all means "strip it down", the best way to learn but take plenty of images along the way for reference.

Welcome to the Club. Looks as though your newly acquired machine may have an alignment issue with the centrifugal clutch!
