Qualcast Suffolk punch 35 fuel tap

Hi,
Are there some decent alternatives for a fuel tap for this mower?
The plastic one supplied feels like it has melted - plastic on plastic...
Olden day mower solutions Cork and brass looks the bestest option!

My old Suffolk had a plastic
My old Suffolk had a plastic version of the Villiersparts 18435 tap when new, which gives the worst of both worlds, a cork to dry out over winter, and a nasty stiff plastic action. After replacing it with a new identical one, which went the same way, I found one of those brass "vertical lever" taps (£9.99 on the Villiers website) on a rusty Atco tank in a skip. Fitted it, and had no more problems.

I've never had too much of an issue with the plastic taps which don't seem to suffer as much from the drying out problem as the corks in the brass ones, but speak as you find.
