DATING SECTION

Enter a word or two to search the forum section and click the Search Forum button.

i think the site needs a dating section. The first thing an owner wants to know is how old there machine is. I have put up the reg no's of two machines which i want dated but no reply's??

When I saw the heading, I thought I had better have a haircut and buy a new pair of jeans, but then I looked in the mirror and realised I had made a TERRIBLE mistake - - !!!

Wow i thought the same thing, was going to post an add asking for a stunning eastern block girl, with a full machine shop, heated, with a bar, and an interest in Shanks/Ransomes/Greens motor and hand mowers from 1850 to 1930!.

As this obviously isnt the case then i probably wont ask.................................................

But the offer stands if she frequents this forum!

In all seriousness i do think this is a great idea in principal

Hi

New member here. Have been lurking around this site on and off for a couple of years and I have at last decided to join.

I agree with the previous comments.Whilst waiting for the idea to nurture what is the best place to ask this type of question?

Excellent site and provides interesting topic of conversation in my local.

cheers Bob

Hello Bob and welcome to both the forum and the club!

To answer your question rather depends on the mower model and make.  A number of us in the club specialise on certain mower makes, myself JP mowers.  Until we get a dating section established, its probably better to add a posting to the forum (with pictures of the mower) and the countless years of experience from regular forum contributors will be readily forthcoming.

regards,

Tony

Dear Dengiebob offer your 2 registrations again,so I can see what you have, see if we can help.

Many years ago in the infancy of this club we use to do a dating service for all lawn mowers,so that after the initial mower was identified we could all share the information..Just the other day on moving our stores I came across the information again, but as to shortage of room,it had to be destroyed.

The good news is the library of The Hall & Duck Trust is probably the most comprehensive of its type, so all you need to do is ask

Kind regards

Andrew

Hello Bob,

I am a completely new member only hours old, I think this is a good suggestion I have posted two messages regarding dating of machines and have done so in two areas not being sure which to use. I hope the members will straighten me out and point me in the right direction.

Regards Geoff.
