What a brilliant journey it must of been. I would love to re - do the journey again.

BBC TV's "Inside Out" programme (shown only in Eastern England) recently featured a story with which many mower enthusiasts are familiar. In 1959 a group of trainees and apprentices of Ransomes drove a lawn mower non-stop from Edinburgh to London. You can see the video of the story, with archive footage from 1959, here:
