An early Green's Mower, pre-chain drive photograph

On visiting a second hand bookshop today, in my quest to find photographs of The first Lawnmower manufactury that being  John Ferrabee's  Thrupp Mill, Ironworks  & Foundry near Stroud,  I came across a book called  "STROUD" by Joan Tucker.

Alas; no photo's of  Thrupp Miil, (original Fulling Water

Mill building sadly demolished pre-1900)  but a lovely photograph of a very early Thomas Green's of Leeds Mower!

I hadn't ever seen a photograph of a post 1859/60 one (i.e. with the pinion chain)

As per all too common, the author has stated the machine being a Ransome's, when clearly not, plus other associated text wrong!

Hi Paul

Yes good to see a new photo, not come across that one, I attach two more note they both have the same front adjusters as in your photo, we have location for the first one & know it was taken in 1865 & good to have a grass box, so when you find one we have a rough idea for a the pattern :)
