Ransomes Anglia 12". Mk1?
Picked this Anglia up this weekend. It's in good working order and still has its box albeit a bit beaten up. At some point a bright green has been brushed on but I'll leave that for now. The front roller brackets thumb nuts/bolts are missing unfortunately and a couple of mis-matching bolts have been used instead. Thankfully these are both the correct thread. Is this machine a Mark 1? It doesn't have the oiling points I've noticed on other Mark 1 machines and if anyone out there has a couple of the correct roller bracket thumb bolts spare I'd be interested in buying them.

I've had a look on the blade and numbers are visible under the paint, these are 27/28. So it looks like an early Mk 1 for this one. I'm just planning to clean, lubricate and use this over the summer. The previous owner had a recent bottom blade fitted and the cylinder is nice and sharp so it's ready to use as is.

It does look to be a Mk 1 & good to have a decent box, many are without. The Anglia was introduced in 1928.
You may have seen on other posts that you can get an idea of the mowers date of manufacture from the underside of the blades, this does only date the cylinder which in some cases may have been changed, but an interesting exercise.
The date will be in numbers approx 4mm high in this format 30/31 for a 1930/31 mower, its often easier to see the slash / first after a gentle bit of sanding then look for the numbers.
