Website Update
I finished a major upgrade to the website yesterday morning. The site is now on the latest version of the modular content management system (CMS) that we use.
The update went smoothly thanks to quite a bit of planning and testing and in the end the site was only offline for about an hour. However, one quirk that emerged only after I had completed everything was that some previous Forum posts were showing up in the wrong section.
Each section of the forum is identified by the CMS using a hidden number code and the update process transposed some of these to an incorrect setting. Part of the upgrade required me to replace the Forum software which was built into the old version of our CMS with a new standalone module. The CMS transferred everything correctly, except for some of the recent posts which ended up in the wrong place although no content was lost. I have moved the ones I found back to where I think they should have been but if anyone spots anything untoward or in a strange place on the Forum please let me know. It's an easy fix but to do anything I will need to know the precise post. The best way to do this is to simply copy the page's web address from whatever browser you are using and send me this by email.
You can contact me by clicking on the olcadmin profile name on this post (or anywhere else you see it) and using the contact tab on the page that appears.
Similar, although I am not aware of any other glitches to upgrade, it's possible that some do exist. Simply send me a link to any of these pages and I will have a look.
