I have been given a Qualcast Commodore mower which I am restoring. I have most of the bits I need but cannot locate the thrust bearings that fit the cone clutch. Can anybody advise where I might find them. It has the Suffolk 75G14 engine and is a 14" cut model.

Does anyone know how to change the spark plug lead on the 75G14 Type 21?

Mine has an average repair where it has been cut in the distant past but the lead does not appear to just pull out of the coil/magneto. Can the lead be replaced or does it need the whole coil to be replaced?

They are usually screwed into a socket in the coil.Try twisting the lead anti clockwise and it should undo leaving a threaded spike at the bottom of the socket. Use a spike to open up the end of the new lead, push it onto the spike and rotate it clockwise. Very early coils had a soldered tab, but that should be obvious.

Thanks wristpin. All done successfully although it did not want to leave home after some 60 years.
