Sirs.I have a Qualcast 16 currently at the repair shop so am unable to post pictures. The  mechanic is snowed under with other work and has asked me to source a new magneto. Can anyone help me with information on part numbers or indeed where i might get one from. It's a Villiers twe stroke engine,so presumably magnetos might be standard across the range.(though i am prepared to be shot down for this assumption).Thanks,Jim.

Think that you may stand a better chance of obtaining what is needed if you are a bit more specific in your request.

Villiers two stroke - model or name?

Magneto. All of it , or perhaps just a new coil or condenser?

Does your "mechanic" have specific experience of vintage mower engines ?  - from the vagueness of the request, I guess not.

Thanks for nothing.

That response is way out of line. You were asked for some specifics, which is a very reasonable request.

Wristpin has responded to many dozens, if not hundreds, of requests for information on this site. IMO he is the most helpful member of this forum.

You know what, you remind me of the type of customers we used to get, they would come in and ask for a part for their lawnmower, when asked what lawnmower they had, they would reply "Not sure, it is green and any way, you sold it to me, so you should know!"

We just showed them the stores racks and asked them to choose which part they required, not easy when there was over 25,000 different parts in stock.

It always helps to be polite and answer the questions correctly, if you don't know the answers, go and find out

Please remember, nobody on here has to answer you, also we cannot answer you if we do not fully understand your questions.

I would also suggest you need to apologise to Wristpin.

Note to who ever looks after this website, why is it using an American spell checker? or is it my settings and if so, where do I change them.
