Ransomes Fourteen NO spark, need help please

Enter a word or two to search the forum section and click the Search Forum button.

I'm trying to bring life back to a Ransomes Fourteen and have many questions in my head, it is Serial number DF 13396.
The machine
Can anyone estimate the date of manufacture?
The engine has a number: F07/01/01/15520, who made that?

It has the round paper filled air filter, any idea if I could find a new one?

Round paper filled filter, can I get a replacement?

It has no spark, so am about to try and extract the flywheel, a WIPAC with three holes, are they 5/16 UNC?

What are the thread types for three holes and crankshaft?
What would the crankshaft thread be?
Once I'm confident on the thread types, I'll make a puller of some description to get to the points, which I expect are knackered.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Bob.
I’m no expert but I have the sixteen which is basically the same thing.

The air filter isn’t something you’ll find, but you can buy a bit of air filter foam on eBay pretty cheaply.
I normally cut it to size and wipe some oil over it to help catch any debris, or you can give the original a wash, they are tougher than you’d think.
not sure about threads etc. try the ones that hold the starter recoil to see if they fit. If so you made need to get a few longer ones from eBay, then get a bit of thick plate drill the holes in the right pattern etc. if you find the screws from the recoil fit you can always take a picture of them and use the chat gpt app, it’ll tell you which they are. I think they are Bsw but don’t take my word for it. Good luck.
