Shay Four in Hand 14in Power Mower lubrication points

Just begun working on recently obtained Shay Four in Hand 14 inch Power mower.

I have no Owners Manual so cleaned off the places where I expected lubrication points to be situated. The photo is the clutch shaft bearing. I expected a oil/grease nipple but only found this hole, has something been snapped off?  Should it have an oil/grease nipple, there is little metal for a thread, or a cup with a hinged cap? Were the hinged caps a push fit? The cutter shaft bearings have a similar hole, but I couldn't find anything for the rear roller bearings.

Does anyone have the manual with the details of the lubrication points, and the type of fitting? I can't believe Shay jusy left a hole!

I'm also looking for an Owner's manual if anyone has one to sell or even a photocopy or scan.
