I have just inherited a 1926 Dennis Z mower. The Magneto works but I need a new Spark Plug.

Is there a modern equivalent that I can purchase ?

The old one has lost it's serial number.

I am reliably informed by someone with more knowledge than I that NGK AB-6 would be a suitable replacement. It might not be a 100% aesthetic match but it will certainly do the job.

I agree with  using an NGK A6 or AB6.

I believe old Austin 7 s  use similar plug- Champion D16 if you see any
