1852-07-23 Randall - John Ferrabee Writes to James Ferrabee

John retired from the business in 1852 and in a letter to James written from Ashcroft House, dated 23rd July, he says:

"Deer Jim, I shall be glad if you can get the business affair arranged by the time I return from Frome so that we can get the necessary documents prepared. I have had some talk with Mr. Kearsey about it and we both think it will be better for me not to be in the firm at all. Let it be in your own names, or Ferrabee Brothers, or any other you may agree on. I support Henry and you have come to an understanding as to the terms of the Partnership, what your respective interests shall be in it, etc. If you have not I would suggest that you should be allowed the house and garden below it and £50, per annum, after which an equal division of profits. I merely mention this as a guide to you in the final settlement and you can consult together about it.

I shall not be absent more than three or four days.

We can only assume that the brothers agreed on some such agreement
