30-in. Improved Mowing and Rolling Machine, for Pony use.

The Horse-power Machine performs three different operations at one time, viz., Mowing, Rolling, and Collecting the Grass; is exceedingly durable, easily managed, and adjusted to cut to the length required.

The work is executed with great rapidity, and in a manner vastly superior to Mowing with the scythe, while the simultaneous operations of Rolling and Close-Cutting greatly improve and beautify the turf.

The Mowing and Rolling Machine is now in common use in the Royal Gardens at Kew, Windsor, Buckingham Palace, and Osborne, as well as in the principal Botanic Gardens, and in almost all the Gardens of the leading Nobility and Gentry in the Kingdom, where its merits have been fully proved and its success established.

Extra Cutters, charged at very moderate prices, are sent along with each Machine, if specially ordered.

THE NEW HAND MACHINE, with Improvements recently Patented, is specially adapted for Mowing Small Lawns, around Flower Beds, Bowling Greens, Verges, &c., and has now undergone a trial amply sufficient to enable the Patentees with all confidence to offer it as the cheapest, as well as the most efficient and complete Machine extant. The improvements effected by the Patentees enable the Machine to be worked with perfect ease by one person, and consequently it is admirably adapted for places where only one gardener is kept. It requires no change of Wheels or Rollers in Mowing Verges- will cut close to the edge of Flower Beds, and has great facilities for quick turning, Cutting and Rolling at the same time. The length of the cut can be effectually regulated in a few seconds, by merely turning a screw; and being simple, as well as complete in its construction, the Machine can be easily worked and managed by a common labourer. The Machines are fitted with due regard to strength and durability, and consequently not at all liable to get out of order. The Cutting parts are made stronger than is usual in other Hand Machines, and the Plate so adjusted as to prevent injury to the turf.

The remarks made regarding the advantages to be derived from the use of the Horse and Pony Mowing and Rolling Machines are equally applicable to the NEW HAND MACHINE. The difference consists in the peculiar fitness of the latter for Mowing Small Lawns, Verges, around Flower Beds, &c.
