Collection, Preservation and Display of Old Lawn Mowers

1856-06-03 Cottage Gardener - Greens Advertisement

THE COTTAGE GARDENER AND COUNTRY GENTLEMAN'S COMPANION.- JUNE 3, 1856.

New Invention in Lawn Mowers, which possess superior advantages to any Machines now in use. Registered July 24, 1855. No. 3730.

In the first place, they will cut the grass either wet or dry; secondly, by the simple adjustment of a thumb screw in front, they can be made to cut grass either long or short; and thirdly, these Machines are drawn instead of being pushed and drawn, consequently do not require half the usual power to work them. They are made to cut any width suitable for either man or horse; will turn in very little room and cut at the same time. They are a perfect roller for the width they cut when thrown out of gear; and can be adjusted and wrought by any unskilled labourer.

For Illustrated Price List, see Gardeners Chronicle, or The Field, the Farm, the Garden. THOMAS GREEN, Sole Manufacturer, Iron and Wire Works, Leeds, Yorkshire, where Price Lists, Testimonials, &c., may be had.

The above Machines are warranted to perform all as described in circulars or advertisements, or may be returned.
