TO be peremptorily sold, pursuant to a Decree of the High Court of Chancery, made in a cause Ferrabee V. Lewis, with the approbation of William Wingfield, Esq. one of the Masters of the said Court, at the George Inn, in Stroud, in the county of Gloucester, on Friday the 24th day of May 1844, in thirteen lots;
Various freehold estates, late the property of Mr. William Lewis, of Brimscombe, in the county of Gloucester, Cloth Manufacturer, deceased; consisting of several extensive clothing mills, work shops, dye-houses, and trade buildings, called the Brimscombe Upper and Lower-mills, and Brimscombe Port-mills, situate at Brimscombe aforesaid; and also a capital mansion, dwelling-house, cottage, stable, gardens, and land adjoining, and two farms called the Hill and the Goughs, comprising about thirty-four acres of land, and the farm buildings thereon, and a wharf, warehouse, and dwelling-house adjoining the Thames and Severn Canal, a smith's shop, fourteen substantially built dwelling-houses and cottages, with gardens, and a messuage or dwelling-house, called the Flat-house, with a cottage and gardens adjoining, at or near Brimscombe aforesaid; also an estate, in the parish of Stroud, called the Slad-farm, with farm buildings, and a house and land adjoining, called Abbey-cottage and Arundell's wood, containing together about fifty-three acres; and an estate called Hawkley, with farm-house and buildings and six cottages thereon, in the parish of Bisley, containing about twenty acres and two roods; and also an estate called Cutham's, in the said. parish of Bisley, containing about four acres; also three pieces of woodland, the first thereof called Trauter's hill, situate near the Slad aforesaid, and containing about sixteen acres, one other thereof being part of Lawrence-land-grove, situate near Toadsmoor and Brimscombe, and containing about seven acres and a half, and the other called Hall's-grove, situate near Brimscombe Port, with a cottage and garden upon it, and containing altogether, by estimation, thirty-two acres.
