SHANKS'  PATENT LAWN-MOWING, ROLLING, COLLECTING, AND DELIVERING MACHINE  FOR 1861.

TOOL BOX  SHANKS  PATENT

ALEXANDER SHANKS & SON have much pleasure in intinimating that the important Improvements introduced into their New Patent Lawn-Mower last season have now undergone a thorough practical test, the result of which has satisfied their most sanguine expectations. Their Machine has gained the only First-Class Prize Medal offered last season, and also the highest Commendations wherever exhibited. The Improvements, from the fact of their having far more of real worth than mere novelty, have been so much appreciated by the Practical Gardener, that a large increase has resulted in the number of Machines sold, every one of which has given the greatest satisfaction.

The Patentees are glad in being able to state that they have succeeded in introducing further Improvements into their Machine, the effect of which will be to establish beyond doubt the high character it has already gained as the most complete, the cheapest, and most durable Lawn-Mowing Machine extant.

A. SHANKS & SON, at the request of many of their friends, have this year brought out a small Lawn-Mower, specially intended to be used by ladies or gentlemen for amusement in the flower-garden, and for small gardens where no regular gardener is kept. This elegant and neat Machine is very cheap, very light, and very easily worked. It embraces, as far as practicable, the Improvements of the larger sized Machines, and, like them, is no toy, but in all respects a firm little thing, ever ready to do its duty to the entire satisfaction of the most fastidious.

Illustrated Price-Lists forwarded on application.

ALEXANDER SHANKS & SON also manufacture Horticultural Machinery, consisting of Boilers, Pines, Binds, &c., for Hot-Water purposes. Garden Rollers, Garden Water- Barrows, Wire-Netting, &c. &c. Illustrated Price-Lists of which will be forwarded on application.

A. S. & SON particularly request the attention of Agriculturists, Contractors, Shippers, and others, to their Portable and Fixed Steam-Engines, Saw-Benches, Grinding-Mills, &c. &c., in the construction of which the finest tools are employed, so that first-class workman- ship is guaranteed at very moderate cost.
