THE COTTAGE GARDENER AND COUNTRY GENTLEMAN, JUNE 21, 1859.
The only MACHINE possessing the Self-cleaning and Sharpening Apparatus, and that will Cut Wet Grass without Choking or Clogging the Knives.
MESSRS. DEANE & Co. Have just received a supply of this new Pattern Machine, which, by a recent improvement, is enabled to work up to the edges of Lawns and Flower-beds without altering or re- moving any of its parts, avoiding the possibility of injuring the most delicate Plants or Shrubs.
The Cutters of the Machine are set to any height Instantaneously, even by inexperienced persons,
BOYD'S PATENT BRUSH LAWN MOWER is in use at the Royal Palaces of England and the Continent, at the Crystal Palace, and on the Lawns of hundreds of the Nobility and Gentry, from whom Testimonials have been received. For economy, facility, and durability, it is superior to any, and is confidently recommended.
The important advantage possessed by this implement over others of the kind, is in the application of a bristle brush, which cleans and sharpens the knives as they revolve, and permits the use of the Machine in either wet or dry weather, without any chance of the knives being clogged. The Machine is light, and easily managed, and is capable of doing the day's work of half a dozen men in an hour or two. "The Times, April 28th, 1859.
