Capitol Edger
1900s
The Capitol is designed to trim the edge of a lawn. Its unusual, narrow design allows it to operate right up to a wall or edging rising above the lawn's surface. The layout of the mower is similar to a sidewheel machine but there is only one wheel which drives the mechanism. This allows the other side of the machine to be kept as narrow as possible so that the cutter can work close to the lawn's edge.
The mower was made by the Granite State Mowing Machine Company of the USA.
