Need help to find my next push mower

Enter a word or two to search the forum section and click the Search Forum button.

I'm after an outer wheel mower. 8 or 10 inch cut, 5 or 6 blades (more if available) and a thick wooden handle.

Something along the lines of the ransomes leo, but more modern, I know there are plenty of different makes and they are all similar but not knowing the makes, names and date manufacturerd I have no idea where to start looking.

My mad method of thinking is that I have a lawn surrounded by fence or raised sitting areas and after shearing the edges I could wiz around with the smaller mower as it will be far easier to take all the corners than my ajax, particularly with the grass collector attached.

The issue with side wheel machines is that while "whizzing" round you may drop a wheel off the edge and do untold damage to the hallowed turf!

Clive has posted a few on eBay, great machines and for a good cause. I'm getting itchy trigger fingers with the Drummond.

I agree, but I have no borders, and to be honest I'm not sure the turf that was laid last summer will even stay down. Drainage is shocking, leveling up will take time, but as im on a slight slope I would have levelled using a line from one end to the other.

Turf was £150, im thinking £100 on a tonne of sand and start again, I dont know if the cost of fixing what I have will be cheaper.

I've been looking at the webb witch while I wait untill a miniature shows up and like the 8 blade, but closer looks at it and it appears to be less robust compared to the ajax, more pressed tin looking as opposed to cast iron an aluminium?

I've made a final decision and am searching for a greens 14 inch push mower with grass box if anyone knows the whereabouts of one for sale.
