Hi folks. Having a tinker with my  Webb 2 Speed today and wonder if anyone can help with the following query please. The 'end plate cover' for one side of the cutting cylinder on my mower simply pushes on and pulls off. Would it have had at sometime 'pins/stubs'? that would have fitted into the three slots in the mower body area it covers? so that when the cover was twisted it would be held firmly in place? The cover on mine is extremely loose fitting and am wondering how best to retain it in place (A good dollop of grease maybe?). Thanks as always for any help/suggestions. Cheers. Rob

Looks like it may have had dimples to engage into the three slot bayonet fitting. Just a guess.

Hi Wristpin. Yes, you are right. There are indeed signs of dimples. Might try and build them up again in some way. Appreciate your reply, thanks. Regards. Rob

Perhaps you could try recreating the dimples with a rounded end punch and a hollow former inside (such as a nut) suitably supported . One of those three handed jobs!

Perhaps a bit more controllable .  Small G clamp, nut inside and a ball bearing under the screw down bit to press in the dimple.

Hi Angus. Your suggestion has worked perfectly, the cover is now being held firmly in place. Really grateful for your help. BIG THANKS!!.  Regards. Rob
