How do I remove the rotary blade plate
I need to remove the cutting blade plate on my Nash Boadicea, I have removed the retaining nut (though it still shows it in position in the photographs). Will a gear/clutch puller be required or is it threaded on? I am unable to find a parts or owners manual for the machine.

Thank you, the plate is alloy
Thank you, the plate is alloy, the deck is aluminium.
Thank you Wristpin.
Thank you Wristpin.
I have been able to remove the plates from two machines using heat and a three legged puller. I am now faced with a tapered shaft with a Woodruff keyway, no remains of any Woodruff keys and no apparent keyway on the plates. Could there never have been a Woodruff key or I am I missing something?
Has the disc got a keyway in
Has the disc got a keyway in it? If it has I think that there’s a fair chance that there was once a key. Perhaps someone has a Nash illustrated parts book .
Unfortunately I have not been
Unfortunately I have not been able to track down a Parts manual for the Nash.
I attach some photographs, showing the keyway on the shaft, but no apparent keyway on the plate. There is a slightly lighter keyway shape on the surface of the plate inside the aperture but I assume that is from where there hasn't been any metal to metal contact coinciding with the keyway on the shaft.
With no corresponding keyway
With no corresponding keyway in the plate the one in the shaft is surplus to requirements. possibly making use of a shaft used in a different application.
Thank you, the JAP 34cc
Thank you, the JAP 34cc engine was used on several other machines as well as other applications I assume.
Someone may know for sure but
Someone may know for sure but guessing, it’s a choice between a taper or a keyed parallel shaft. Either way warm it up ( alloy?) and put careful pull on it with a three leg puller. Maybe warm it more while it’s under tension.
