1970s Qualcast Rotary

Firstly, thank you for accepting my join request.

I have recently been gifted a 1970s Qualcast, and have now started restoration of it.

I just love the way it looks, reminds me of my childhood for some reason.
Suspect it'll make mowing the lawn much more fun, with it's bright colours :o)

I'm hoping somebody can help confirm the identity.

Having searched and searched the interweb, I can't find a single image the same, the closest that I have got is a single image of petrol driven version on the same chassis in an Argos catalogue page, from 1979.
The text alongside, suggests it to be a Qualcast Jetstream Standard, although the Standard bit appears to be added as it was being replaced in that same year with a sportier model, named the Jetstream Deluxe.

I now believe it to be a "15inch Electric Jetstream", and by the researching the version of the Qualcast logo, appears to be circa 1975 to about 1977.

Any more info would be greatly appreciated, would love to get hold of a parts book, or exploded diagram / parts list etc.

Thank you for your time.
Michael

Hello

Can anybody help me in any way?
Even just a steer as to where I might look for parts diagrams or books or any kind of literature?

Thank you

Michael

Oh wow, that's fantastic, thank you so much Rob.

I've been keeping an eye on eBay, but not spotted that one.

So, that's the first time I've actually seen a picture anywhere of the same model, albeit in later colour scheme and logo than mine.
Right then, so it's definitely a Jetstream, but looks like the correct name is a 'Jetstream 38RE Deluxe'.

I have spotted whilst dismantling that the plastics parts on the mower, all have part numbers starting in RE.

I did find a listing for a pack of bolts and small plastics for sale on eBay, new unopened from the 70s, and labelled 'Jetstream 15 inch Electrtic', but they turned out to be incorrect.

Superb, thank you Rob.
