Dads Suffolk Super Colt
Hi Guys
After many years of my dads mower being sat in the shed i have decided to bring it back to life , i would say it has not been running for over 20 years but i do know that it does turns over as i did have a look at it a few years ago , infact i gave it an oil change under the impression i was going to get it back running but it got put to one side and forgotten.
One major item i had noted that half of the HT lead is missing and the other half is what appears to be an electrical cable to the top of the spark plug, i presume that this has worked , but saying that could this be the reason why it was left in the shed.
Can the HT lead be replaced , going to take the carb apart and give it a good clean , oh and lastly , can i find the grass box no chance !!!
many thanks
Iain

Yes, the HT lead can be
Yes, the HT lead can be replaced - it screws into the ignition coil , but that means removing the flywheel. The chances are that the contact points will need to be properly cleaned so they can be attended to at the same time. However, If by any chance it still has a spark you can just solder a bit of proper HT lead to the existing one and slide a bit of heat shrink tube over it.
