Watching bits of tonight's Antiques Roadshow (From Belfast)
Seeing Fiona Bruce with some antique gardening accoutrements, notably the "Vasculum" a metal case carried as a satchel for plant collecting; I instantly had thoughts of Thomas Green's very early period 1857-59, and their Mower toolboxes!

Before "modern" welding techniques, brazed Tin-Ware being the choice for construction, Hence the Vasculum & the tool box looking similar.

Very interesting Paul, certainly similarities, although I suppose the shoulder strap confirms a Vasculum. Keep searching & hopefully a Greens box will turn up.

Indeed, the soldered on strap eyelets certainly give no doubt to the fact this one and all the other ones I have seen online are Vasculum's not tool boxes.
Thomas Green's were such a versatile and innovative manufacturer.
