Hello all

Looking forward to catching up, all packed & ready for early start, should be a great show, in addition to the club members fantastic display of Old Mowers there is a bonus this year with a mega gathering of Steam Engines, many have been on the news this week including several travelling over 100 miles by road under steam. Its the Societies 70th anniversary.

Its great that seven committee members will be present plus several other members showing their mowers.

Come & join us. . https://bseps.org.uk/bedford-steam-country-fayre/

A note for Paul Harvey, I have just seen the Bayeux Tapestry & wonder if we need to re-visit the Budding/Ferrabee story, see image below, we can discuss over a beer this weekend :)

Its always about Harold, is he the knight with the arrow in the eye, or the knight cut down with swords. Nobody every mentions the nobleman mowing.......... my favourite part is The Phoenix Ironworks depicted the first mower coming out the door.

went to Tewkesbury Abbey today to see a copy of the Bayeux Tapestry, (sometimes called a new original production) much better than the original, no crowds, and no going to London!  Couldn't find the sidewheel mower on it, saw some peasants chopping wood on what must have been a very  hot day in 1066  though.

So I thoroughly recommend going to Tewkesbury Abbey to see it!
