Atco Standard flywheel problem
Hi all, I am trying to remove the flywheel on my Atco standard mower but the nut just spins both ways and feels as though it’s sheared. If this is the case should I be able to just pull the flywheel off? Thanks

If the flywheel nut turns…
If the flywheel nut turns freely multiple turns in either direction without tightening then almost certainly the thread on the shaft or the nut has stripped.
If the thread has gone then you’ll simply have to try alternative ways of removing the flywheel, most likely using some type of three-legged puller, perhaps suitably modified. It will likely be a case of trying different techniques until (hopefully) something works.

Have you tried keeping on turning it? There's a surprisingly large gap between the tension breaking first, and the flywheel starting to pull off, surprises me every time, and it just seems to turn freely when it's in that gap - acts just as though you've stripped it.
