Yesterday I went to a general collective sale at Ledbury, Herefordshire.

Firstly there was a  Ransomes "Anglia"

Its got the "Ltd" after the Ransomes Sims & Jefferies so well into the 20th century, I wonder how old it is?

Hello

Anglia produced late 1920's to late 1930's approx, good to have a reasonable box, did you buy it?

Mowing Wurzel Senior took a shine to the Anglia, but alas became the underbidder!

Note: The retailer's label, An early use of plastic labeling?

Badham & Co.

Looking online,  B & Co. were Ironmongers & Water Engineers of 21 Southgate Street, Gloucester. ( Now Tesco! )

By the 20th century, the company had new partners, Then went into administration in 1925, but seem to have started up again and going for another 30 odd years.

There is a Pharmacy trading in the area, with the same name, but this seems unconnected.

The grassbox was split, but could be glued using PVA.

Hopefully the new owner will be conserving it!
