I’m looking for an oil gun for my Ransomes Certes. I purchased one from Ransomes but it does not seem to work, oil coming out of what looks like a breather hole instead of the end. Tried to get one from Frost UK only to be told they are out of stock.

Edit - it looks like the Frost one with an extension on it.
They also do a version for some Ransomes Ajax flat oil nipples.

In the end Frost were out of stock so I purchased a 31960 120cc telescopic oil Gun ( Abnox-Wanner) which worked a treat.

It does indeed say "oil gun" so I would expect it not to drain out and soak your bench from month to month.
Most of these things are sold as "grease guns" and they would be fine for that - I have a couple of old Tecalemit GB 2787 grease guns and I'm certain that if I put oil in them it would run out through the seals but of course they're fine with grease. I have a modern small ordinary grease gun for oil and that leaks enough to force me to drain it after each use.
If you do get the Frost oil gun please do feed back to us on your findings.
