New member, new toy!
Rescued a Atco Club B20 Special from possibly being scrapped.
After removing a lot of very dry grass from under the engine cover, looked more like a thatched cottage!
Stripped cleaned and reset the carb and mag. Mower now working and cutting grass.
Now the help bit. Repair to the grass deflector plate that has rusted through. Should I cut away the rusty section 50mm. below the fold and replace with new metal or non rusting plastic sheet?
Next, how easy is to remove the silencer, or should I leave well alone? I look forward to any advice on maintaining this mower in good working order.

Welcome Ian,
Welcome Ian,
I do not have a lot of manual and soforth like wristpin has, but comparing a view pictures makes me believe that the Club B20 de Luxe shares a lot of parts with the Royale B20

So why not to buy this one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ATCO-ROYALE-B20-LAWNMOWER-GRASS-DEFLECTOR-PL…
I’ve found three different
I’ve found three different part numbers for Club deflector plates but these may be nothing more than just administrative changes.
Committed to making one, but
Committed to making one, but a lot more basic shape. Gone for stainless and regretting it, mild steel would have been easier, don't need a deflector to outlive me..
Plastic / ABS / fibre glass etc bad idea, costly and would break probably.
Henno's e bay link looks best easy option

Welcome,
Yet another Club !
Tecumseh engine? Unless you have a need to remove the silencer I would leave it alone until such time as you have to. Visions of chewed up or sheared screws.
Deflector plate. Don’t know what plastic you have in mind but I would stick with steel as I would think that it will hold the necessary contours. Not only is there the unrotted flange at the top but the it is bowed around the cutting cylinder but, from memory there is another bend and a flat section that engages with the bottom blade carrier ( aka sole plate or bottom block) If the bottom is rotted beyond recognition I should be able to find a parts book drawing.
