Puller
If all goes well, by end of play tomorrow, I shall have made a nice little flywheel puller.

In this case, the flywheel on
In this case, the flywheel on a cast iron 75G on a Suffolk Punch 43. Outer posts are bolts to fit existing threaded holes Most of the shank of those bolts will be hanging out the back in fresh air using the nuts to keep the working bit as short as possible.. Centre bolt has been changed for something entirely different - an L-shaped bolt which, effectively, has it's own handle to turn.
Ran out of daylight yesterday to actually give it a try so I'll have a go later.
Don't really want to pour
Don't really want to pour cold water on your puller, but it probably isn't made from thick enough steel, it will most likely bend. I would suggest at least 3/8 inch thick bar, but the thicker, the better.
Made this for Suffolk Punch
Made this for Suffolk Punch A114 motor. 8mm aluminium plate, centre bolt hole treaded to M8, slightly domed the bolt end for a better face against the crank end face. Just as important I think is a bit of prep with a heat gun and some judicious use of a nylon mallet
Combination flywheel holder
Combination flywheel holder and puller that I made about 35 years ago. Some may recognise the centre bolt - a petrol Flymo blade bolt.
Not a top trump... made this
Not a top trump... made this holder multi tool for the Marquis. 3.5mm steel plate with reliefs around the bolts and one end ground to 2mm and the other increased to 5mm, I have no idea why now but would hope it would make sense if I used it again. Certainly did the job.
Gently increasing the tension
Gently increasing the tension followed by some gentle taps on the centre bolt with a hammer & it popped off. I'd like to say it's all down to my engineering skills but it may just be that, unusually, this machine appears to have been the recipient of regular & adequate maintenance in it's past life. (even if it does look a bit crusty externally).
No expense spared :-)
No expense spared :-)
Personally I would go for a hex head centre bolt opposed to allen head, more feel & torque, also outer posts look a bit bandy, a good snug fit all round will aid a centre pull off.
No idea what f/w you are pulling and I guess if it works straight then its ok...
