Watching bits of tonight's Antiques Roadshow (From Belfast)

Seeing Fiona Bruce with some antique gardening accoutrements,  notably the "Vasculum"   a metal case carried as a satchel for plant collecting; I instantly had thoughts of Thomas Green's  very  early period 1857-59, and their Mower toolboxes!

Before  "modern" welding techniques, brazed Tin-Ware    being the choice for construction, Hence the Vasculum & the tool box looking similar.

Very interesting Paul, certainly similarities, although I suppose the shoulder strap confirms a Vasculum. Keep searching & hopefully a Greens box will turn up.

Thank you Clive for the reply!

Indeed, the soldered on strap eyelets certainly give no doubt to the fact this one  and all the other ones I have seen online are Vasculum's not tool boxes.

Thomas Green's were such a versatile and innovative manufacturer.
