Atco lightweight kickstart

I have recently acquired an Atco lightweight,I’ve done a bit of research on the club library pages and come across a brochure for 1939 and noticed that the fuel tank mountings are different to mine, does that mean is probably older than 1939?
also the kickstart return spring obviously isn’t right.Does anyone know what should be like please

Hello

Re the date you could well be right that its a bit earlier, the image below is similar to yours & from the 1937 brochure, sorry don't have any close-ups of the spring mechanism, but I'm sure some others out there will have.

Looks in very good used condition with plenty of original colour, transfers etc, hope you will be just giving it a good clean and wipe over to preserve its as found looks.

Do you have a grass box?

Thanks for that Clive,it does have a grassbox with it which is an extra bonus and no I don’t intend to go anywhere near an aerosol can with this one

Here are some pics of my 1936 20" Atco heavyweight - the fuel tank supports are like the brochure.

I am not sure if the spring is original.
