Hi folks.

Recently got myself a couple of Thomas Green brochures, one for the 'Prefect' and another featuring the 'Paragon'.

Just wondering if anyone has the actual mower(s)? ....I could see a picture of please?

Thanks.

Cheers.

A great find Rob looks like these mowers were introduced just as 2nd WW was kicking off here in 1939/40, have seen a couple of classified ad's selling second-hand Prefects in 1944,47 & 48 & in fact a wanted ad in 1943 seeking a Greens Prefect or Qualcast Panther. So we do know some must have been sold.

I have images of the Paragon as below in the Thomas Green archive collection passed to us by John Pease and used for his book "The History of Thomas Green & Son Ltd", I notice John did not mention the Prefect or Paragon so assume he couldn't find any other references to them.

Can we assume these two mowers were to replace say the Greens SM De-luxe/Supreme & perhaps the SM Gear?

Appears the war may have been responsible for the Prefect & Paragons limited life as in 1946/47 the Monitor & Zephyr could well have replaced them.

Interested to know other members views & indeed if any survivors.
