Introduced in the late 1920's Ransomes Anglia was available in 10", 12" and 14" cutting widths. In the 1939 the price of a 12" machine was £7-15 -0, while an Ajax was £4-19-0. By contrast Greens Silens Messor, which by this time would have looked well past it was £8-0-0 for a 12".
This is quite a nice original example I think, recently conserved rather than ' restored ' ( to what ). It will be noted that none of the raised lettering is highlighted. Eighty plus years old and still capable of cutting grass to a good enough standard for most practical purposes.
