Well lads and ladies, quick question on the mower above, seen a few that have sold for 6 or 700 in the uk. I have 1 that I'm looking at in ireland. Asking price is €1700, the seller seems genuine snd not sure was he done when he purchased. Been looking for 1 for awhile but dont want to get roasted. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Mower is spotless

A little difficult to comment without knowing or seeing what the machine is really like. However a few things to bear in mind, these are fairly readily available as you seem to have found out. For that sort of money one would expect something in more or less as new order. Is it ' spotless ' because it has had an easy life or has it had a quick tart up job to sell. Why is the current owner selling it ?  Has it been regularly properly maintained ? How near is it to you  - ideally see running before committing.  If it's the other end of the country there is additional cost in getting it home even if you do it yourself.

Has it got the correct trailed seat and grassbox. Presumably you are wanting to use it - other makes and models, albeit slightly older, will do as good a job for less money.

As ever, a few images will be more informative. Don’t recognise the CE/it, but the twenty four has been around in various versions and updates since the 1950s. Was known as the heavy duty in the early days and latterly as the Royale. All versions have been fairly simple and robust but as it’s no longer in production under the Atco brand and manufacture**, some parts have become expensive and may be difficult to come by.

** the Atco brand name was sold to GGP and the rights to manufacture some of the machines to Allett. The 24” exists today as the Buckingham.
